About the tournament

Water Polo 4x4 is the open-water format of the sport, played four against four on a compact floating field. Organised by Qatar Aquatics Federation and staged in the harbour at Old Doha Port, with free public viewing from the promenade.

Two competitions run side by side: an open men's tournament and an under-14 competition. Places are limited and allocated in order of confirmed entry.

My matches

Line-ups open 24 hours before kick-off and may be changed as often as you like until 2 hours before, when they close and become final. You are warned 30 minutes before the deadline, and if you file nothing your line-up from the previous match is adopted automatically. You may inspect your opponent's line-up and lodge a protest up to 30 minutes before kick-off, and appeal a result to the Jury of Appeal within 6 hours of it being published.

Entries

Draw

Only approved teams can be assigned. A1–A4 and B1–B4 for the open competition, Q1–Q4 for under 14.

Schedule — dates, times and teams

Change the day, the kick-off time or the teams of any match, then press Save. The line-up and protest windows move with the kick-off. Semi-finals and finals fill in automatically from the group tables unless you choose the teams yourself. Teams cannot be changed once a match has a score.

Red cards — suspension decisions

A red card ends that match for the player. Whether it also costs him the next one is your decision, taken here. A suspended player cannot be named in that line-up.

Results — amend after a Jury decision

Awarding a match records it as 5–0 to the other team and recalculates the group table. Re-opening returns it to the officials' table for correction and re-publication.

Line-up locks

Line-ups open 24 hours before kick-off and close 2 hours before. After that a team cannot change anything unless you re-open it here.

Jury of Appeal — protests and appeals

Testing — move a match

For testing only. Moves a match's kick-off so you can see the line-up window open, close and the appeal window run. Clear the overrides before the tournament.
Load demo data creates 8 open teams (Sharks, Orcas, Qatar University, NSA, Kuwait, AlQadisiya, Dolphins, KSA) and 4 under-14 teams, approved, eight players each, and runs the draw. Sign in as team1 to team12, password 123 for all. It also moves four matches near to now so every window can be tried at once: O1 in 3 hours (line-up open, and Orcas have already filed so you can inspect and protest), O2 in 1 hour (locked — try re-opening it from Line-up locks), U1 in 45 minutes (protest window), and O5 finished with its result published 20 minutes ago (appeal window open for 6 hours). Use Reset all data when you are finished testing.

Data management

Delete or clean tournament data yourself. Only the organiser sees this page. Every deletion is recorded in the audit log, and a full safety backup of the database is taken before anything large is removed.

Users and roles

Add accounts, give each one a role, and choose what every role is allowed to do. Changes apply immediately. The Organiser role always keeps every permission, so you cannot lock yourself out.
